Which challenges necessitated change?

Before Brexit our solution was servicing the UK from the republic of Ireland and this solution was working fine and allowed us to become one of the UK’s larges online providers of Baby safety products and prams.

After Brexit, we were faced with double VAT and duty, As we paid it once importing from China to Ireland, then after Brexit, the UK developed a hard board to Europe, therefore we had to pay VAT and Duty importing From Ireland to the UK, plus the delays at the boarders started to affect our lead times, which was unsustainable.

As the UK was 65% of our business, we decided to change our model to shipping containers directly from China to the UK. So we were looking at moving to a warehouse based in England to get around the barriers faced with Brexit.

What made our solution stand out over others that you researched?

We needed to find a provider that could handle and store our volume securely, as our fastest selling items, pram travel systems can be heavy and bulky. We needed to also keep our delivery costs down, as the dimensions of many boxes exceed the parameters set by the carriers and a provider that knows the Amazon model, as all ourorders currently come through our own website (pureplay), however, we had a strategy to start selling on Amazon in the next 6 months.

When we started speaking to MCF we found then very responsive and proactive. They always seamed to have a solution to any of our problems at a competitive price. MCF have set high standards that I don’t want to go elsewhere.

How did our team help implementation?

MCF ensured they planned to be prepared for all the orders we were sending them to ensure the went out in time. They helped implementation by being proactive and working efficiently.

How have our solutions helped since implementation?

MCF ensured they communicate with our team in Ireland and so they can plan back orders efficiently so they are prepared all the orders are sent out same day as they arrive into them.

Our returns process requires someone with an eye for detail and MCF have recruited someone in the role solely for returns into their warehouse that has gives the returns the attention they require.

MCF took the time to get things right. They have been like and extension to our business as they really care.

What impact have our solutions had on the growth of your business?

The fact orders are going out on time means without customs restrictions since Brexit came in means productivity has increased by having all goods based in England. This also reduces the possibility of customers asking for refunds & prevents us on loosing out on sales.

What plans do you have to use our solution in the future?

MCF have set high standards that I don’t want to go elsewhere. They have been like and extension to our business as they really care.
